Currently

It's that time again! Time for Farley's Currently. I may not always blog as much as I would like to and share what I am doing in my classroom which I honestly hope to do MORE of this year, but I try to always link up with Farley. So here goes:

Of course I am listening to the Super Bowl, but watching the commercials. So far I have loved the 1st M &M one and been absolutely disgusted by the Go Daddy one! GROSS!!!! So just seen the Taco Bell elderly commercial. LOVED IT!

Since today was the TPT SUPER Sale, I cleaned my cart out. I spent extremely TOO much money last year on TPT things, that I use most of, but not all of. So I carefully went through my cart and removed or bought what I needed. I removed WAY more than I bought. Since I have purchased for more than a year. I have most if not all the themes that I use! One thing I WISH all sellers would do would be to put I CAN cards with the activities, it's so difficult to try to make your own because you don't own the clipart to make it easy!

This month has been hard on me due to the fact that on January 4th, my six year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Thankfully she is a trooper and is doing great with her pricks and shots and everything. We have had to learn how to count carbs and measure food. But we are all doing great with it!

We are hoping to plan a trip back to Tybee Island, Georgia this summer. I LOVED it when we went two years ago. My only problem is we want someone to go with us, so we can enjoy a bike ride across the island a few times. So if I can get that ironed out, I can schedule the trip!

I am needing a 5 day work week. I think I calculated my actual work days in January and came up with 10. That's it. Between being off with my daughter for the Diabetes and when she got sick with RSV a week later, and the CRAZY East Tennessee weather. We have been out one day for flooding, one day for ice, and tomorrow will be day 3 for snow! Not to mention one 2 hr delay, and two early dismissals. And we were out for Martin Luther King Day. I really feel like I haven't done anything with my kiddos. We haven't had a full week since December. 

My biggest pet peeve is people who ALWAYS have something to say. It doesn't matter if they are not in the beginning of the conversation, they always have to put in their two cents. It drives me CRAZY!

January Currently

I can't believe it's January already. The school year is half over. I am linking up for my favorite linky ever!!! It's Farley's Currently. So here you go.

I am listening to the Florida State Seminoles go into halftime with a slight lead of 14-3. Was hoping it would be bigger so I could go to bed. 

I had the best shopping spree ever a few days ago. I went to Maurices and racked up. I received an email saying clearance was 75% off, so I thought I would check it out since I had gotten a $25 gift card from my mom for Christmas. Well while I was going through the purse finding the gift card I also found a coupon for 15% off total purchase clearance included. I was very excited. So in I go knowing anything I found on clearance was 90% off! I tried on a ton of clothes, I finally decided on 5 dressy shirts, one blazer, a pair of black dressy capri's, a red skirt that I would typically not even think about getting but for less than $5, why not give it a try. So I go to checkout and what do I find in my purse......a $10 off coupon from where I have used my Maurice's Take Ten card. So 90% off and $10 off, and my $25 gift card, I only shelled out $1.75. I was an extremely happy girl!

I go back to school tomorrow, and am very excited to see my 19 kiddos. I love spending time off with my girls, but I am not a stay at home mommy for a reason. It drives me crazy, not having a schedule.

I do not make new year's resolution's due to the fact I have never been successful at them. I do attempt to make goals for myself and have a better chance doing them longer than resolutions. So this year I want to be more organized: at home, at school, my calendar, you name it. I want organization. We will see how well that comes.

I am needing SNOW. I know some of you have already had a ton, but my entire break was rainy, dreary, and cold, but not cold enough! Last year, I think we only used about 3 of our snow days at school. I would love to use around 10. No more though, as we have a couple days without kids towards the end of the year, and I don't want more than we have, since that resulted in Saturday School two years ago. So I need snow also so my girls can play in it. We didn't get to last year because of sickness. 

OLW: LISTEN I want to be a better listener to my girls, to my hubby (who swears I never listen to him, and is mostly right), to my kids at school so I can learn more about them, to my friends cause I don't have that many and I need to be a better friend, so I feel listening will get me there faster, to nature. I want to take more hikes and bike rides with the family this year and I want to hear my surroundings. I am lucky enough to live just outside the Great Smokey Mountains, and I want to teach my girls to listen to nature, because we never know how much longer we will have it. 

I have thoroughly enjoyed this month's Currently like I do every month, but it being January it puts certain topics into perspective. Thanks Farley!

I can't believe it's December already. I am teaming up with Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for this months Currently.

We had our city Christmas parade today and the weather was amazing. It was in the middle 60's and extremely nice. My girls got more candy today at the parade than they received at Halloween. Something is wrong with that picture. Needless to say hubby's coworkers will love it because we pick out a few pieces of candy for the girls and he gets to take the rest to work and share! Therefore no nap for the 2 yr old and now very whiny and tired. Bedtime in the very near future.

LOVING: My hubby and I were able to pay off my student loans this past month and his truck. I am one very happy girl. We now only have utility bills and a house payment! 

Wanting: I would love to get more organized at school. Every time I try, it just doesn't work. I hope to work some over Christmas break to get closer to where I want to be.

Needing: I need to go away for a weekend! We didn't go anywhere this summer, so it has been since last October that we traveled anywhere. I don't care where, just out of my little old town for a weekend.

RAK: The hubby and I have talked about doing this for some time. The next time we are out at a nice place to eat, we want to pick a table and pay for their meal. Pay it forward.

November Currently

I can't believe it's November already. We have already celebrated the 50th day of school, and with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner it will be January before we know it. Anyways I have sadly been neglecting my little blog with so much other things I have needed to do. My goal is to post at least once a week. Start small and maybe I can do it. I have loads of things to post, but no time to do it. So here is to November.

So we get a fall break super late. But at least we get one. We needed it about 3 weeks ago.

I love Cades Cove. It's just past Gatlinburg, TN in the Smokey Mountains. I went all the time when I was a kid and am hoping to start taking my girls more frequently. You drive through and see deer and sometimes bear, and all kinds of other animals. There are numerous hiking trails and old cabins. It's a really nice place to get away to for a few hours. If you ever get the chance go!

I earned Rising Star in the Visalus company, so now I need to help the people under me help get more people to join the Visalus Challenge. We are helping people get healthy one person at a time. Whether they want to lose weight, gain energy, get more lean muscle, or just to eat healthy for a cheaper price. I love the shakes! 

Skyfm is an online radio station type thing. It has all kinds and genre's of music. I love to put it on during class, and when I am alone in class I can listen to my country and not have to fight my radio to find a signal.

July Currently

I can't believe it's already JULY! But I am super happy to link up with Farley for her monthly Currently!

I am happy that my 5 year old and 20 month old enjoy playing together MOST of the time! I love listening to them. 

I finished teaching upcoming kindergarten summer school Monday, so I am officially on summer break for a month and a week! Time to enjoy my girls!

If it's already hit triple digits at the end of June, what is July and August going to bring! 

I have convinced the hubby we need to take a trip to IKEA! So since he is off the rest of the week, I am hoping we can go sometime before he goes back to work. The nearest store is 3 1/2 hours away!

I have severely neglected my housework due to teaching summer school, so the next few days will be cleaning time, if I can stay off the computer and my phone!

My newest favorite repeat read is Pete the Cat. I introduced him to the kids in summer school and they loved him. I HAD to read at least one Pete book a day or they were not happy with me. They loved the songs!

I am digging in deep to The Daily 5 this summer. I have done a little with it in the past, but just couldn't get happy with it and how to do it in Kindergarten! But after the book study with Kinders only! I am very excited and looking forward to successfully implementing it this year. So it is by far my go to right now!

June Currently and Updated Freebie

So 1st off I totally messed up my yesterday post by not clicking SHARE in Google Docs, so no one was able to get the FREEBIES, I was trying to give away. So PLEASE go to yesterdays Monday Made It post and get your FREEBIES! 

Now on to the fun for the month. Farley has sent us her Currently, so of course I had to join. I LOVE these. It really helps me think about things going on in life right now!(Every Month) So anyways.... Here is mine.

I am loving it, except for the part I didn't click share yesterday and no one got my things. 

I sooo want to go back to Las Vegas, I LOVED it when I went about 8 years ago. I went to Hot Springs a month or two ago to go hiking, and I want to go back to Tybee Island, but don't think it will be till next summer.

May Currently ~ A Little Late

So I am just now finding time to link up with Farley for her monthly currently! A the pageant title was very difficult for me, not really sure why, but it was. So here it is......

So just to elaborate on a few of these.

Loving: I just found out I get to teach summer school, which tickles me to death. Last year did not have a good experience due to the fact that a retiring teacher was able to teach at my school and I had to teach at a different school. Was very excited this year, because my oldest will be going to my school next year and since we live in a different county, was wanting to teach at my school, so she could go and meet new friends prior to school starting in August!

Wanting: 2 weeks I have way too many things to do, and just knowing that in 2 weeks this years group is gone on and I can refocus on the things that didn't work this year and begin to prepare for next year. Another biggie with this one is that it will be the last daycare payment that is equivalent to a house payment!!!!! Now I will just have the youngest in daycare and it will be equivalent to a car payment. It's sad how high daycare is:(

Pageant Title: I was wanting something unique that I hadn't seen on the Currently's I have already viewed, but didn't have a clue what it would be. So I am a go with it type personality and I think sometimes it gets too complicated trying to worry over things that you can't do anything about. I sometimes wish I wasn't so carefree, but most of the time I am fine with it!

Well there's my currently a little late, but I won't miss one! At least I intend not to miss it. If you thought this was fun head on over to Farley's page and check out the other 137 who have already joined the May Currently Linky. 

I have a ton of things I am wanting to post that we have been doing in class, but haven't had time.

April Currently

I am so excited for Farley's Currently Linky Party

So, please let me clarify a few things.

1. My baby is 17 months, and she went to sleep with little help from mommy tonight! I fed her and she wanted in her crib. I laid her down and rubbed her back and she drifted off to sleep. We always play classical or something similar at bedtime for her. 

2.3. We have only had 4 school days off since we returned to school in January! Last year we lost all our snow days and this year used one! My kids are tired of each other, and I am tired of them. WE all NEED a break! Today was a good day, so there is hope we can make it 2 more days!

4. If you are NOT familiar with Secret Stories, you need to check them out. Laura @ Kinder Kraziness. She posted a giveaway last week on these wonderful stories and posters that help teach students diagraphs and blends. It looks like a wonderful resource for any teacher!!!!! Go check it out! Secret Stories.

5. I have way too many things I need to do in the next 25 school days. 25! That's all we have left. It's kinda scary thinking, have I covered everything, do they know it, will they remember it. But the end of the year paperwork is what I always DREAD!!!! I try to get ahead and turn it in early, but it NEVER happens.... so maybe making a to-do list will help. One can hope can't she:)

6. Yes my super power is rather strange, but I get easily frustrated watching people but things left and right, and knowing that I personally don't have the money to buy everything I want. I don't mean your regular debt, which everyone has in order to live..... but I would like to know how people afford new clothes, shoes, items for their classrooms (ALL the time). I wish I could do it, but I just can't I am lucky to say that my little bubble would be minimal due to the fact I was raised if you don't have cash for it, don't buy it! Yes, I own credit cards, but it's mainly for a better credit score. If I buy something on credit, I make sure to have the money to pay it off, when I receive the bill, so as not to pay interest on it. I would want a filter on my brain so I wouldn't have the urge to say something about people's bubble, but it would be very interesting for me to know. So strange as it is that would be my super power.

March Currently

It's time to join Farley's Currently. I love this. It's so nice to stop and think about each of these questions every month. And I love how she keeps us thinking with the random last questions.

My students have been strange this week. Monday was one of the best days ever! I use behavior clip chart and all my kids ended on green and above. Then yesterday just the opposite, I only had 5 out of 19 on green or above:( Today they were more normal. All over the chart and mostly above green. I am hoping that tomorrow goes well. It is a full moon, and we all know how changes in the moon and weather make behavior horrible!
